Temertei is a loose transliteration of the Mongolian төмөртэй, meaning "with metal". Төмөр, "metal", is the same root word as seen in Genghis Khan's given name, Temujin, and in the name of Timur of Samarkand.

is "temertei" written in the classical Mongolian script.

The name "with metal" reflects how my jewellery creations are made on a base of woven metal. The reference via language to the military might of the ancient Mongols pays tribute to the chain maille origin of many of my woven styles.
