James Wappel is a graduate of the American Academy of Art. Artisic success did not come immediately upon graduation, however. He worked in a computer graphics company for several years. Then when that company went out of business, he worked in constuction for home remodeling. Ironically, several of the homeowners were artists, and they started taking art lessons from him, allowing him to open his art studio.
